I know it is possible to read email attachments, however is it possible to read the contents of the email ? I currently have a scenario where a client sends data in by email, however the infomration is in the body of the email not as an attachment.

Thanks

Documentation page 100

12.23.1 Package Variables

Package variables are used to provide the user with additional information. For example SQL script has failed and the user would like to email the SQL to the developer. Insert <Sql Script>
into the email message and it will be replaced with actual SQL.

The one you need is

<POP3 Message>

begin
Result:= GetVariable('<POP3 Message>');
end;

Here is a sample email. The problem is that the email is still on the email server. Although there is a method to retreive the attachments, how is the body of the email retreived (if that is possible).

I don't want to send an email, I want to read the contents of the email sent.

Thanks

Still confused

Are you saying the email was already send by some application and it sits in the sent folder on the server and you want to process it?

Yes .. the information is in an email, that is on the email server. I had asked if they would be able to send this as an attachement as I know this will work .. but I am unable to read the email from the email server.

Thanks

One of the good things about Advanced ETL Processor that the trial has no limitations. There is no need to fill in any registration forms or to buy the software in advance.  That saved us a lot of time and we were able to load and  validate all our data when we needed it urgently.
