ETL and Data Integration tools - Modern ETL software for everyone

Question:

We will have SQL Servers in a remote location and will be connected via LAN or possibly a WAN.

Can the execution agent be installed as a service on a Server (where our database will reside) and still have the Visual Importer FE installed on our Administrators Desktop????
How would that be accomplished? Is this a practical solution?

We are in the early stages of evaluation but like what we see so far.....

It can be installed as a service.
Procedure as follows

install Visual Importer Enterprise on the server and install it as agent
as a service

Share repository folder

Map it to user PC

On user PC install Visual Importer Professional
connect it to the repository on shared drive on the server

On user PC click File->Options ->Execution -> Tick Do not execute any
package

Now user can design packages on his own PC and it will be executed by
the agent on the server.

As you can see it can be done the trick is to use same repository and
configure same directories and odbc connections on the server and user PC.
I personally prefer to use terminal services and do everything on the
server less hassle
