We are looking for a tool similar to Visual Importer and it looks as a fit for our environment.
We do generate data extracts in text files using custom sql's from oracle database.
The sql which we run daily which we want to execute using scheduler should be parameter driven which is a date (usually the day before).

So how do you put a variable in the SQL and have the system generate it during the execution.
I have seen the demo's and have gone through the user guides but didn't find this option.
Example: Select * from orders
where order_date = ;
Can we have a variable like and have the Visual Importer generate the actual value??

Please let me know if this functionality is available. Also would the tool support Oracle's functions in the SQL?? Also what is the latest version of Oracle you are supporting??

I would like to know this before trying out the Trial Version. I would appreciate your response.
Thanks,
Raj

You can use combination of system variables + script

Also would the tool support Oracle's functions in the SQL??

Also what is the latest version of Oracle you are supporting??

May I also suggest to try data export wizard

We soon realised that Visual Importer ETL was designed by people who use it everyday.
