Hello

Am running a trial on Visual Importer Professional

I am loading one table from SQL Server 2000 to an equivalent table in Oracle 10G Release 2 running under Windows 2000 using a direct Oracle Connect. The table is fully mapped and passes the health check fro consistency. I have selected to Add records as it is a full transfer and the target is truncated. The load to Oracle is specified as conventional path

The import works fine when I just run it as import. However if I try to create a package with just the one import module in it and set this to the start point, the package does not execute. I get the message 'ORA 00933 SQL Command not properly ended'. The execution monitor shows the package as status 'executing' without a finish time but the elased time is still updating. However when I try to stop executing I get the message 'Nothing to stop'

The log has the following entries;
Information 22/03/2011 11:13:11 Preparing to execute CP
Information 22/03/201 11:13:11 Package Started

I have tried changing the SQL delimiter from / to blank and ; which is my normal Oracle delimiter but doesnt seem to make any difference.

Any ideas? Can I see the SQL being generated for Oracle and how is this different for a package and import?

Tony.

I've tried to reproduce the problem but I could not.
Therefore can I ask you to email us the following information.

Table creation scripts for oracle and ms sql server .
Example of data( csv file from ms sql server will do)
Your repository file.

proper syntax is:

truncate table orders
/

make sure that you specified / as your sql statements delimiter.

Thanks for reply - actually I got both the work and home copy.

I am running a more structured set of tests tah I may have to mail tonight from home as again attachments get blocked by our firewall. I have managed to get a package to work using ODBC as source and target onMS SQL server so clearly I am not too far wrong with my understanding of how things work. However this is using an access repository - before I built one in Oracle - and I did have a problem creating an import using a target of direct connect to MS SQL Server details of which I will send tonight.

I am now trying to repeat the test going to an Oracle ODBC target and following that I'll try the native Oracle target.

Will advise tonight. I am not in the office tomorrow so Monday will do for any response.

Regards

Tony
