Sorry to bother you, but you might be able to save me some time.

I downloaded and installed latest VI , but when I try to specify the target database, I get an error message that "SQL server does not exist or access is denied."

I'm running SQLServer 5 Express. Does Visual Importer perhaps not work with this version of SQL? If not, then I won't spend any more time trying to make it work.

I have never heard about SQLServer 5 Express.

May be it is SQLServer 2005 Express?

Did you specify currect user name and password?

Do you run VImp where is SQL Server is installed?

The user name and password I entered should be correct, Mike. However, when I installed SQL, I specified Windows authentication, rather than SQL authentication. Does that matter?

I'm running VImp from whatever default directory is installed itself in. Should I reinstall?
