TOPIC: GDS32 Error

daven2411 OFFLINE Fresh Boarder Posts: 8 Karma: 0	I am getting the following error when trying to connect to a Firebird database. "Cannot load client DLL: GDS32.dll". The version of the software I am using is 3.2.2.10 as downloaded from the Portable Apps website. Regards Dave

admin OFFLINE Moderator Posts: 2183 Karma: 12	GDS32.dll is Interbase/Firebird client We do not not install it with database browser It is usually already installed by firebird setup Run search for fbclient.dll copy it to gds32.dll this should sort it out Mike

daven2411 OFFLINE Fresh Boarder Posts: 8 Karma: 0	There are 3 copies of GDS32.DLL on the server, all within the GFI Mail Archiver sub-folders. I am trying to connect to the server via "\\servername\pathname" so I suspect I would need the DLL on my USB drive. Also, do I need to enter a username / password to make the connection? I have tried it both with and without but I always gets the message about missing DLL file. Regards Dave
