There are a number of mysql in the server;

the details that I have for connection is;

domain.org:10001

with username and password

for Connection type, I select MySql
for host, I enter domain.org:10001

what do I enter for ODBC Administrator ?

for Port, I enter 10001

and username and password as provided;

when test connection, I get error message

Can't connect to mySQL server on "domain.org:10001" (10061) Socket error on connect, WSAGetLastError return 11004($2AFC)

What makes you think that you to enter something for ODBC administrator?
ODBC administrator is for ODBC

Enter

domain.org for host
10001 for port

enter user name and password

Than select database

I do not think we can help you

It might have something to do with the firewall or MySQL configuration

It works fine for us on local MySQL server and on remote server as well
