Hi,

Will any of these ETL tools work with QuickBooks like proprietary data structures?

Specifically, will it work between SAGE MAS90 and a MS SQL 2005 server based system?

With SAGE\'s MAS90 software we can connect to the database thru ODBC view and extract the data but we cannot update the existing data or insert any new data into the MAS90 database.

I know it will work with MS SQL 2005 server but will it work with MAS90?

Thanks.

Ali

Hello

Well I've never tried it myself but according to the documentation to the ODBC driver you should be able to update the data

Documentation

pvx.com/support/docs/manuals/ProvideXBrochure.pdf#page=15

Odbc driver

pvx.com/downloads/#download-odbc

With ProvideX ODBC in place, your ProvideX database can be read and updated using standard SQL
commands. Also, it ensures maximum interoperability. By using the single interface, you can open
up your ProvideX data to the most popular database managers, query applications, and report
writers: MS SQL Server, Word, or Excel with MSQUERY, Informix, and Crystal Reports® (just to name
a few). The ProvideX ODBC driver runs under Windows 95/98, Me, NT4, 2000, Server 2003, and
XP, and it will allow access to your ProvideX data across Windows and UNIX platforms.

Mike,

Thanks for the prompt response. I just want to clarify:

1. Does this mean your ETL tool(s) already have the necessary Providex drivers to be able to update data in a MAS90 database?
2. Or are you suggesting that we will have to get and install the Providex ODBC driver on our own and then use your ETL tool?
3. Will your ETL tool work with the Providex driver?

When I say ‘your ETL tool’, I mean the Advanced ETL Processor Enterprise that I am interested in.

Thank you.

Our software does work with some bizarre ODBC drivers

Have you ever heard about Icon Explorer Driver?

Used in banks.

we were never allowed to use it security etc

But is used by our customers every day

Mike,

Thanks.
I will get the Providex ODBC driver if it is not too expensive and then download your ETL to try.
