Hello

we have added to our portfolio of products visual importer that seems an interesting product for ETL

However, after downloading the latest version of visual importer, and setting up a mapping between an excel file and a mysql database, all records are rejected

I am running mdac 2.8 on a French workstation with windows 2000 SP4.

The import of the data from the excel file and the connection to the odbc mysql driver (target) are fine.

Afterwards, I have setup an identical mapping between the files and ran the mapping . Ignoring or not whether the field is null does not make the difference

I have all the times, a result with all records being rejected

Please advice, as I am enthusiastic in selling and using your software

Thank You,
Jean

Hi.

1. All fields in your table are not null half of the columns within Excel file are empty
2. For every single field within the script you set ifnull to Reject
3. There is no Date format defined for Date field
4. Format of Date field within excel file is not consistent for some records it is yyyy-mm-dd for some dd/mm/yyy
5. we use mysql driver ver 3.51.12 I suggest to use direct conenction instead of odbc

Hello Mike

I put all the field of the table to null and define a format field however, it does not map

You did not explain why the size format is not displayed for the target data

as far as my driver is concerned it comes with MDAC installed on windows 2000. I can't instal a mysql driver from mysql.org on a windows laptop

Hi.

I believe your target database is MySql not MS Sql

as far as my driver is concerned it comes with MDAC installed on windows
2000

There no MySql ODBC driver supplied within MDAC only MS SQL.

Here is the link to latest ODBC driver for MySQL
dev.mysql.com/downloads/connector/odbc/3.51.html

Right

I thought I was updating the mysql odbc driver this way by updating the mdac. This is what I thought I read on a microsoft blog

It is all working now as expected.
Thank you very much for the help
