Is it possible to split a number field in two using calculations.

We have Telemarketing files that contain a field which can be up to 6k characters in lenght. The system it goes into requires the field to be no more than 4K, if it is we wnat to split the field in two and append the first half to one field and the second to another.

Is this something that is possible with the current tool?

Assuming that you are talking about Advanced ETL processor.

There is no need to use calculation transformation function.
You can achieve the same by using substring + joiner.
