A couple things I have noticed that might enhance the user experience.

1. When creating objects, the cursor defaults to the “Cancel” button. So if I create a new package or object, give it a description, and then hit enter….it closes the box. Typically, I would expect the default to be “create” and not “cancel”.

2. When setting up the FTP object inside of a package, it would be nice to have a side scroll bar (if needed) as well. After connecting to the FTP, if you have extracts whose file names exceed 35 characters, the end of the extract scrolls off the side. It makes it difficult to select the correct extract if you have extracts with the exact same name with the only difference in that they have the date appended to the end of the extract name.

3. When creating an email object inside a package, the tab order (inside the advanced tab) seems a bit off. It appears the tab order is

To
Attach Check Box
Subject
Attachments 1
Attachments 2
Message Toolbar
Message Body

It seems more intuitive for the tab order to follow

To
Subject
Message Toolbar
Message Body
Attach Check Box
Attachments 1
Attachments 2.

I realize all of these are more aesthetic in nature but thought I would pass them along anyhow.

Finally, I am not sure if this is something currently possible with your tool or not. I looked through the PDF and did not see anything related to this. One Task that I need to perform is generating a list of the names of all extracts on an FTP server and then emailing this list to specific individuals. This is done prior to any validation or transformation. Basically, I would set up a mask for specific groups of extracts so each different group listing could be emailed on. Is there a way in your tool to only capture the physical extract information (File name, size, creation date etc) in a format that could be attached to an email?

Thanks,
Caleb

"Using Active Table Editor is the easiest way of editing lookup tables  I've ever seen. A free 30-day trial is available on their Web site; the only issue is that when the 30 days are up, you're going to want to buy it."
