Hi Mike

I tried adding the script and variable to a package to test the routine this evening but ended up with errors and wanted to check if my set-up was correct –

1. I set up the variable <file_id> as follows –
2. I added the variable name to the file output name as a parameter
3. I set up the script

I then ran the package but received the message Row cannot be located

Once this message appeared I could not do anything to close the ETL program – trying to use the Task Manager to stop the ETL processor program resulted in the following additional message –

I did set up a file at |C:\ named 1.txt

Should I have done this or should the routine set up the files as it appears to check for a files and then set one up should it be missing?

I tried saving the Repository but only kept getting the message “Row cannot be located…….”

Have I missed something in the set-up?

Regards,
Kurt

This error is not related to what you are trying to do.
You might see this error when there are two instances of application open.
One changes the record saves the data another was editing the same data and since the old version of the data does not exists any more you get the message.
Just close it and open it again

Also compact and repair the repository.

Visual Importer ETL  saved us 25-30 hours per month. Much of that comes from being able to build in error checking into the scripting. I've even been able to script corrections that run on the fly triggered by the error checking on incoming order files.
