Hello

I have recently downloaded the Advanced ETL Professional edition, and have been testing out its capabilities, but have been running into several issues. I am wondering if this is because it is a demo version and not the purchased version. The software seems to be very buggy and throws many system errors (cannot access module at xxxxx, etc). I am also running into issues where transformations are not saving. After building things, I ensure that i save it to the repository, however upon closing the transformation window within the application and reopening it - everything I built is gone. We are considering purchasing the Enterprise edition, because we will need to run this as windows service to allow our ETL jobs to run on our server- however we do not want to invest in a product that is not functional. Can you please get back to me so that I can decide if your software is the right solution.

Thanks,
Nick

We have introduced some new functionality couple of weeks ago related to working with excel files
This is due to the fact that all ways of accessing excel files provided by microsoft do not work as expected in a lot of cases
It is common problem regardless what you use SSIS,DTS odbc or OleDB
I believe our software works correctly with excel files now all the time.

Unfortunately during this change some of the bugs were introduced.
One of them was not saving changes as you reported.
This was resolved in the latest version.

We always assist our customers with problem resolution ASAP
Usually problems reported are resolved within a day.

If you provide us with some examples of how we can reproduce the problems you have experienced we would be more than happy to assist you.

If you have some suggestions of how we can improve our software we are happy to listen as well

If you are running into difficulties performing complex transformations email us some examples and we will do everything we can to assist

If evaluation period is close to the end we can extend it for you

Looking forward to your reply,
Mike

Hi Mike,

Thank you for your response. I have a question – if I built things in the professional edition, and then want to switch to the enterprise edition, can I import those jobs? Or do I need to rebuild them?

Thanks,
Nick

No need to rebuild you can just copy the repository

Testimonials

Advanced ETL Processor's ability to validate and tranform data without actually loading it into the datawarehouse has saved us a lot of time. We were able to see how data will look like, once it is transformed and which records would fail during data validation.
