I have a question please concerning the setting up of the CSV export file names that currently are created from the extract runs.

I have built an output format that utilises input from a Set Variables object and also the Package variable <datetime> variable.

The requirement is to enable the 25 CSV files from each Extract run to be placed into a folder whose name matches the day of the month folder E:\ETL\MY_L03

– there are 31 folders set up.

The actual file name generated is as follows – MY_CheckLog20110113030106

<datetime> Package variable generates an entry as yyyymmddhhmmss

MY_CheckLog20110113030106

What I have been trying to do is effectively cut back the <datetime> to just yyyymmdd

I have tried using a LeftString function but it does not work – do you of an approach that could prove the reduced file name?

There is another function you can use.

GetSystemDate('DD')

GetSystemDate('DDMMYYYY')
