I have a number of text files my import directory I have to append date end of the each file name and archive them in another folder.

I think it should be possible by using calculations in file names but I do not know how

I have a better solution why do not you create separate zip files for every day
You can use calculation in file name like this
C:\Data{GetSystemDate('YYYYMMDD')}.zip

That way you will not end up with thousands of files in the archive directory and save disk space same time
