AETL Lookup Object 1 Year, 6 Months ago Karma: 0
Hello.

Just a quick one.
I am working with lookup _object_ a lot and the list of values changes quite often.

It would be great to be able to pull the list from the data_base_ of file automatically before transforming the data.

It will save me a lot of time

Best Regards,
Maria

If I use a lookup _object_. How do I use the incoming field to lookup against? In my sql do I specify something like Where Field = :in.field

It depends on what you are trying to achieve

If you want to validate your data against list of values use Validator + InList _object_
If you want to transform data eg: Replace M with Male and F with female etc, use Transformer + Lookup _object_

I just transferred 10,000,000 million records from the main SQL Anywhere database over the network into a Postgres database without a hitch.
